501

Levi’s most iconic and timeless style that only gets better with time. Signature button fly, slightly higher mid-rise, straight fit through the hips and thighs, and a straight leg. The back panel is cut wider than the front giving a nice hug and lift to the tush. Button fly tends to be a bit more flexible and forgiving than a zipper fly.

501xx

Every bit as iconic as the standard 501, the xx denotes made from shrink-to-fit denim, especially coveted for their extra snug fit and ability to mold to the body. Like the 501, the 501xx features the signature button fly, slightly higher mid-rise, straight fit through the hips and thighs, and a straight leg.

505

505s are an excellent 501 alternative and feature a zip fly, mid rise, fit slightly slimmer through the hips and thighs, and sport a straight leg. The front and back panels are cut the same width so they run a bit more narrow. This can give a more tailored look and is also my favorite for sizing up to achieve a relaxed boyfriend fit without too much sagging on the rear.

517

First introduced in 1969 to wear over western boots, this style has a zip fly, standard rise, runs slim through the hips and thighs, and a boot-cut leg. A classic for a reason!
